Project Summary

Location: Laurel, Maryland
Challenge: This first-floor remodel was designed to solve long-standing issues with flow, light, and functionality while giving the family the space they were missing. The once-dark front room was opened up to create a brighter, more welcoming first impression. We then added square footage with a first-floor addition, expanding the kitchen and living areas so the home could better support everyday life and family gatherings. Skylights bring in abundant natural light, and a new mudroom adds organization with a dedicated drop zone, relocated main-level laundry, a utility sink, and generous storage. The result is a thoughtfully reimagined first floor that balances space, flow, and organization for years to come.
